Marco Rigoni has claimed that his struggling Genoa side are too good to be relegated to Serie B.
The Rossoblu are in the drop zone, although they are level on points with Palermo with four games left.
“The squad has spirit and that has been proved,” the midfielder stated to Il Secolo XIX following their key win at Chievo Verona at the weekend.
“Genoa can’t and must not be relegated for so many reasons…
“We wear a significant shirt, that of the oldest club in Italy, with a passionate and active following as was shown at the Stadio Bentegodi.
“We must just keep on the road that we are on, playing with the same sporting rage that we demonstrated at Chievo.”
The Rossoblu will end the campaign with games against Pescara, Torino, Inter and Bologna.
