The English defender, on loan in Florence this season from Manchester City, was forced off just before half-time in La Viola’s eventual 3-0 Europa League success at Dinamo Minsk.
The club released a brief statement to confirm only that the 26-year-old had reported a problem with the flexor muscle in his right thigh and that tests will be carried out during the course of Friday.
The Corriere Fiorentino add more detail to the issue and assert that this is an injury that will likely require between 15 and 20 days to recover from, before he is allowed to rejoin his teammates in training again.
It is the latest injury issue to hit Fiorentina this season so far, as the likes of Juan Cuadrado, Giuseppe Rossi, Mario Gomez, Joaquin, Marko Marin, Stefan Savic and Gonzalo Rodriguez are all already sidelined.
