Fiorentina star Franck Ribery is to have ankle surgery today and it’s reported he will be out of action for two months.
The club confirmed a check-up showed his ankle needed an operation to stabilise it following a very bad sprain with ligament damage.
A statement noted he has flown out to “Murnau hospital in Germany with Fiorentina club doctor Luca Pengue and physiotherapist Simone Michelassi ahead of an operation on his right ankle.

“The operation will be carried out by Professor Johannes Gabel. Once the operation is complete, Fiorentina will provide further information on Ribery’s condition and the timeframe for his return to action.”
According to news agency Ansa, the former Bayern Munich man is expected to be out of action for at least two months.
