Reports in Serbia suggest Fiorentina have reached an agreement to take Luka Jovic on loan from Real Madrid, paying only half his salary.
The 24-year-old striker was purchased from Eintracht Frankfurt for €63m in 2019, but quickly fell down the pecking order under coach Carlo Ancelotti and made only 19 competitive appearances this season.
According to Buta Sport in Serbia, Real Madrid have agreed to loan Jovic to Fiorentina for the 2022-23 season and pay half of his €5m per year net salary during that period.
They hope he can be revitalised at Fiorentina and follow in the footsteps of Dusan Vlahovic, therefore earning a transfer elsewhere.
The Viola have qualified for the Conference League play-offs under attack-minded coach Vincenzo Italiano.
It is not the first time that Jovic has been linked with a Serie A move, as he was also said to be of interest to Milan, Juventus and Roma in recent years.
