There are reports in Spain that Barcelona will ask Fiorentina for Sofyan Amrabat on a six-month loan without obligation to buy, terms that the Viola will not agree to.
The midfielder has been at the centre of attention ever since he shone for Morocco at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, taking them to the semi-finals.
However, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur and others were all rebuffed, as Fiorentina have no intention of selling.
With a price-tag of well over €30m, it therefore seems highly improbable that the Serie A side would accept losing Amrabat on loan.
If the reports are accurate that Barcelona are not even providing an obligation to buy, then that makes it even more unlikely.
Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso is already under pressure from the fans for not investing enough in the squad and he would not let one of their star players leave in the final 24 hours of the January transfer window.
