According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sven Botman and Charles De Ketelaere are determined to snub Newcastle United and Leicester City offers to join Milan.
The Rossoneri are on the lookout for a new centre-back and an attacking midfielder and have been in talks with both players for a long time. Botman’s agents reached an agreement in principle with Milan in February, but the Rossoneri and Lille haven’t agreed on the player’s price tag yet.
According to Gazzetta, Milan offered €30m to sign the Dutch defender, but the interest from Premier League clubs, especially Newcastle United, has increased the player’s price tag.
Reports in the UK suggest that the Magpies have recently issued an ultimatum to Botman, warning his entourage that they’d pounce on a different target if the defender doesn’t agree to move to St James’ Park in the coming days.
De Ketelaere is in a similar situation as he also prefers Milan to the Premier League, where Leicester City are ready to offer €35m to secure his signature. Yet again, Milan have yet to shake hands with Club Brugge, but are aware that a move to the Stadio Meazza remains the player’s priority.
