A sensational report in The Sun claims Juventus are close to signing Nice striker Mario Balotelli on a free transfer.
According to the newspaper, which has run the story as an exclusive, Juve’s relationship with Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola is “key to the deal”, given he also represents Bianconeri pair Blaise Matuidi and Moise Kean.
Furthermore, a five-year contract “has already been drawn up, with a handsome signing-on bonus”, while the 27-year-old “would be well received at the club”, with Gianluigi Buffon “particularly keen” on his fellow Euro 2012 finalist pitching up in Turin.
The Sun adds the former Milan and Inter would play “a key role” for Juve and not just act as backup to Gonzalo Higuain.
Balotelli has been a star performer for Nice this season, scoring 18 goals in only 23 appearances.
