There is chaos at Lazio after boss Edy Reja is understood to have resigned as Coach of the capital outfit.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the tactician sent a fax to the club offices at around 3pm local time this afternoon outlining his intention to walk away.

Lazio are still pondering whether to accept or reject Reja’s letter of resignation.

Reja has reportedly chosen to end his Lazio career after his relationship with President Claudio Lotito and sporting director Ighli Tare broke down.

The tactician has made no secret of the fact that he was left disappointed by the club’s work during the January transfer window.

There was also conflict at the weekend as the duo are understood to have questioned the tactician’s decisions following their 5-1 collapse at Palermo.

According to La Repubblica, Reja has decided to quit but he has agreed to still take charge of the team for Thursday’s Europa League game at Atletico Madrid. They are 3-1 down from the first leg.

Lazio have lost two of their last three games in Serie A and they had to come from two goals down to beat Cesena 3-2 in the other.

Former Lecce boss Gigi De Canio is already being touted as a possible replacement for Reja once the team returns from Spain.
