Real Madrid open talks with Brighton’s De Zerbi – report

Real Madrid are looking around for Carlo Ancelotti’s successor and have started exploring a move for Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Ancelotti’s current contract with Los Blancos expires at the end of the season and he’s expected to leave his post to take over the Brazil national team, being a favourite of many in the federation including consultant Ronaldo.

20 years his junior, De Zerbi took over at Brighton last year and has quickly proven himself to be one of the most exciting coaches in the Premier League, averaging 1.61 points per match across 56 games, using an electric 4-2-3-1 system.

As reported by Sport via TMW, Florentino Perez is starting to look around for a successor to Ancelotti and believes De Zerbi could be a good fit for Real Madrid, so has opened talks with his entourage to start discussing a move next summer.

The Italian coach is contracted to the Seagulls until June 2026 and is happy at the club, but he could be tempted by a move to the Spanish giants.
