Former Juventus striker Fabrizio Ravanelli claimed the penalty kick awarded to Napoli against the Old Lady was a ‘scandalous’ decision.
The Azzurri claimed all three points at the Stadio Maradona against Juventus making the most of a spot-kick converted by Lorenzo Insigne in the first half.
The penalty kick was caused by a Giorgio Chiellini foul on Amir Rrahmani, but the former Juve and Middlesbrough forward believes Daniele Doveri’s call was wrong.

“When I was a footballer, that would have never been a penalty. It was a scandalous decision,” Ravanelli told Juventus TV.
“Chiellini jumped, spread his arm and hit Rrahmani without doing it on purpose. He couldn’t even seem his opponent. Rrahmani would never get the ball, the penalty was invented by the referee and VAR.
Andrea Pirlo complained after the game, but Italian sports papers wrote Doveri’s decision was correct.
