Rastelli: ‘We’ve achieved nothing’

Massimo Rastelli says Cagliari have not achieved anything yet this season following their defeat to Fiorentina.

The Sardinian side had made an excellent start to life back in Serie A and went into the match against the Viola on the back of three straight victories. However, they came unstuck against Paulo Sousa’s team, going down 5-3 at Stadio Sant’Elia.

“After a good start we had a great chance with De Gennaro,” Rastelli commented after the match. “Then we stopped playing.

“We allowed Fiorentina to play their game. Four goals from four shots in one half is too much.

“We had a reaction, but our match lasted for six, seven minutes.

“Some defeats can be healthy. I have repeated to the boys, during the week, that we haven’t achieved anything. Achieiving safety is still a long way away.

“If I didn’t manage to make myself clear then I take responsibility for this defeat.”
