Ranieri set for Ligue 1 promotion?

Claudio Ranieri could be set for a Ligue 1 promotion as a major French publication links the Nantes Coach with Olympique Lyonnais.

According to Le Parisien, Ranieri could leave Nantes this summer, despite leading the club to the comforts of eighth place.

The newspaper explains Les Canaris’ board are unhappy with the 66-year-old’s reluctance to put more faith in their young players.

Consequently, he would be looking at ‘a better contract with a more ambitious club’ in Lyon, who are currently fourth in the French top tier.

However, Le Parisien warns President Jean-Michel Aulas has yet to make a decision over incumbent Bruno Genesio.

Ranieri has also been linked with the Italy vacancy, although the former Roma, Juventus and Leicester City boss has seen his candidacy wane.
