Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos congratulated Juventus on a “deserved” Champions League Final.
The reigning trophy holders went out 3-2 on aggregate in the semi-final, losing 2-1 in Turin and drawing 1-1 at the Bernabeu this evening.
“The truth is that it’s tough to recover from a Champions League elimination,” said Ramos.
“We’re a team fighting to win trophies and were favourites to defend our European title.

“Juventus deserved it. After the first goal, we thought it was all done. We must congratulate Juventus because they did better than us over both legs.
“We failed to score more goals than them at home and weren’t good enough front of goal.
“After their goal, we were a little down emotionally because we were having a good match until then but didn’t take advantage of our chances.
“It’s not easy when you have to come back from behind and stay on the shore. This must be a lesson for us. If you make mistakes in the Champions League, you’re out.”
