Rabiot renews with PSG

Roma and Juventus look to have lost out on Adrien Rabiot, as Paris Saint-Germain have announced they have tied him to a new contract.

Problems in negotiations on a renewal between the Ligue 1 champions and the 19-year-old had seen him on the verge of a move to the Giallorossi in the summer, before talks broke down at the last moment.

Roma confirmed their intention to come back in with a bid in January, whilst Juve were also seen as sniffing around the midfield talent.

However, Rabiot looks to have disappointed both clubs with the announcement that he has agreed a new five-year contract with PSG, to commit him to the French capital outfit until June 2019.

“I am very happy to remain a player of Paris Saint-Germain, the club that made me become the player I am today,” Rabiot is quoted in a statement confirming the new deal on the club’s official website.

“I thank the President for keeping the negotiations open in recent months and the sports department for their support.

“Here at PSG is where I grew up and felt my first emotions. The project of the club is an ambitious one and I am proud to be part of it for years to come.

“I now want to concentrate on my football, on my game and bring the best of myself to PSG on the field, and for the fans.”
