Napoli are facing a few bureaucratic issues ahead of their trip to Leicester in Europa League with David Ospina and Victor Osimhen who may not be available as they played in red-list countries during the international break.
Napoli face the Foxes at the King Power Stadium on Thursday, September 16 in their opening Europa League group stage game of the season.
Ospina and Osimhen should be eligible to play against Juventus this coming Saturday, but they may miss the Azzurri’s trip to the King Power Stadium next week.
This is because they played in red-list countries during the international break.
Osimhen’s Nigeria played at Cape Verde on Tuesday, while Colombia hosted Chile in Barranquilla.
It is forbidden to travel to the UK for people who have travelled in a red list country in the previous 10 days unless they have British or Irish national or residence rights in the UK.
Also, those who have been in a red list country in the 10 days before arriving in England must quarantine for 10 days in a managed quarantine hotel.
According to Il Mattino, Osimhen arrived in Rome yesterday and will need to complete documents at the British embassy in the capital to be allowed to travel to the UK.
Eljif Elmas and Amir Rrahmani must undergo the same process to enter the UK for the match against Leicester, but it remains to be seen if Ospina and Osimhen will be allowed to play against the Foxes without self-isolating.
Il Corriere dello Sport reports UEFA delegates are working with the British Government to solve the issue.
