Although Hellas Verona were originally mentioned, Tuttosport claim a deal is practically done for a move to Torino.
It’s a return for Quagliagol, who started his career at the Torino youth academy and went out on several loan spells until his sale to Udinese in 2005.
He is brought in as a replacement for Ciro Immobile, the Serie A Capocannoniere who was sold to Borussia Dortmund last month.
It’s reported Quagliarella will sign a three-year contract and become one of the highest-paid players in the Granata squad.
There are also other rumours emerging of a last-minute swoop by Napoli, his hometown club, but it appears Torino have the upper hand.
Quagliarella had joined Napoli in 2009, but had a bitter falling-out with then-Coach Walter Mazzarri, the club and local fans, going to Juventus in 2010.
