Marcelo Brozovic is the only injury absentee for Inter, as Borja Valero has shaken off a muscular problem and is expected to start in midfield with Matias Vecino.

Radja Nainggolan should face his former club, while Matteo Politano also spent time in the Roma youth academy.

The surprise could be in attack, where Luciano Spalletti is reportedly considering Lautaro Martinez rather than Icardi.

This would confirm the theory that while Icardi has been welcomed back into the fold after his six-week exile and row over the captaincy, he is no longer the automatic first choice centre-forward.

If Spalletti continues with his 4-2-3-1 formation, then Lautaro Martinez is an alternative to Icardi and not his strike partner.

The issue hasn’t come up since Icardi’s return, because the younger forward was injured, but now that Lautaro is fully fit, we should see who is considered first choice.

Roma are missing Daniele De Rossi, Davide Santon and Rick Karsdorp, but Stephan El Shaarawy has recovered from a muscular problem in training and should start.

If he does not make it, then Justin Kluivert is tipped to take his place with Cengiz Under, Edin Dzeko and Nicolò Zaniolo.

Alessandro Florenzi returns at right-back with Antonio Mirante now the consolidated first choice goalkeeper instead of Robin Olsen.
