Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha is unlikely to extend his expiring contract and according to reports in Italy, his agent is in talks with Bundesliga and Premier League clubs.
The Albania international has climbed the pecking order, becoming Lazio’s first-choice goalkeeper after beginning the season as Pepe Reina’s back-up. The Spaniard’s unconvincing performances have made Strakosha become the regular starter between the sticks at the Stadio Olimpico, but his future at the club remains uncertain.
According to Calciomercato.com, Strakosha is unwilling to extend his contract expiring in June 2022 with Bundesliga and Premier League clubs who have already called the player’s agent to discuss a pre-contract.
Lazio are also looking for alternative options. Chelsea’s Kepa and Tottenham’s Pierluigi Gollini are reportedly on top of their shopping list for the summer. Gollini is currently on loan in North London but is expected to return to Atalanta at the end of the season as the Premier League side won’t make his move permanent in the summer.
