The head of the Italian Coaches’ union claims Cesare Prandelli’s “knowledge, conduct” and ability to forget the training ground make him an ‘ideal’ CT.
Prandelli coached Italy between 2010 and 2014, leading them to the Final of Euro 2012, although he was sacked after a group-stage exit at the World Cup two years later, while his subsequent spells at Galatasaray, Valencia and Al-Nasr yielded just 38 games.

“The next CT will be chosen by the commissioner or sub-commissioners,” Renzo Ulivieri, once a Coach himself, told Radio Sportivo.
“Probably some errors of inexperience in naming candidates were made if Conte responds by saying that they must remember he still has 18 months left on his contract.
“I don’t think we’ll see any big changes in the next six months, with Di Biagio bringing the situation forward.
“[The new CT] must be someone knows how to stop being a Coach on the training ground and become a technical director that makes decisions in 2-3 days.
“For me, Cesare Prandelli seems like the ideal figure for the national team for his knowledge and conduct.
“However, I don’t want to single anyone out. I’m only alluding to a profile. Giampaolo also had an unlucky spell and and had to wait for Empoli to believe in him, as did Sarri and now [Aurelio] Andreazzoli.”
