Prandelli: An interesting evening

Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli has described his team’s 5-3 friendly win over Fluminense this evening as ‘interesting.’

The Azzurri were twice pegged back to end the first half level at 2-2 but then scored a further three goals in four second half minutes to eventually prevail against the Brazilian club side.

Ciro Immobile netted a hat-trick and Lorenzo Insigne bagged a brace, prompting Prandelli to praise the strike duo.

“This evening we saw some interesting things,” he told Rai Sport after the match. “Insigne and Immobile did well. We need to have more courage, but our condition is good.

“This is our final day of intense work. We will do some specific work this week and we will go into the match against England ready."

The 56-year-old also advise Mario Balotelli to follow the example of Insigne and Immobile in his own quest for Azzurri goals.

“Balotelli? Goals need to be searched for, as Insigne and Immobile did.”
