“I’m happy with the performance, we dominated until the end but it’s so cruel,” Pochettino told BT Sport.

“For me it was the best performance of the season.

“I’m happy with the performance but so disappointed and so annoyed, because we deserved more but we conceded twice in two actions.

“Until the first goal the game was under control, but we conceded and after that happens, anything can happen in a place like San Siro.

“When you're in a negative period it’s so hard to bounce back.

“It happens in football. I think you can only fix that with work, working harder than before.

“We made a mistake and we paid for that mistake, sometimes you don’t but in the last few games we’ve been punished for our mistakes.

“That's football, we keep working and try to win the next game.

“Now in this negative period the most important thing is to be calm and assess things in the best way.

“We need to review things and try to move forward.”
