Player Ratings: Juventus 2-0 Torino – Gatti’s revenge, Vanja’s errors

Juventus won another derby della Mole, beating Torino 2-0: here are Football Italia’s player ratings from the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus

Szczesny 6 – A very quiet evening for the Poland international.

Gatti 7 – He had snubbed Torino to join Juventus in 2022 and today he hurt the Granata again by scoring his first Serie A goal. Took his revenge after the brutal own goal at Sassuolo two weeks ago.

Bremer 7 – Won the battle with Zapata. The Brazilian was left bleeding following an aerial duel in the second half, but it led to Gatti’s opener.

Danilo 6.5 – Very solid, always in the right place at the right time.

Weah 6 – Returned to the starting XI after nearly a month. He wasn’t a threat in attack but helped defensively. The USMNT international was pretty much a right-back in the second half.

McKennie 6 – With his compatriot Weah deployed on the right flank, McKennie returned to central midfield. Decent defensive performance.

Locatelli 6.5 – Always composed. Not a difference maker, but is becoming more and more reliable as a Regista.

Rabiot 6.5 – His physicality is key for Juventus, but he plays further away from the opponents’ goal this season.

Kostic 6 – Assisted Milik for Juventus’ second goal (75’ Cambiaso – 6)

Miretti 5 – Didn’t find much space between Torino’s lines and was subbed off at the break. (46’ Milik 7.5 – Two shots on target and one goal in the opening 18 minutes in the second half. Fair to say he had a decent impact. Quality passes and smart movements. MOTM.)

Kean 6.5 – Seemed in very good shape. He scored one goal but it was disallowed for offside. Contributed to Juventus’ first goal. This is the Kean Allegri and Juventus fans want to see. (85’ Yildiz N/A)

Coach: Allegri 7 – No Chiesa and no Vlahovic? No problem. Max got the maximum result with minimal effort. Juventus didn’t need to push much to score. The Bianconeri were always in control of the game. Scored with two set pieces, but deservedly won.

Torino

Milinkovic-Savic 4 – Has to be blamed for both Juventus’ goals. Was efficient between the sticks, but didn’t read any of Juventus’ crosses and was lucky to concede just twice.

Tameze 6 – Played out of position due to injuries to Buongiorno and Djidji, but didn’t disappoint.

Schuurs 6 – Kean was a tough opponent today, but the Dutch defender was tidy defensively.

Rodriguez 6 – Adequate performance and a goal-line clearance that was not enough to avoid Juventus’ opener. (84’ Gineitis N/A)

Bellanova 5.5 – Was the first one to get a yellow card. Many forward runs, but not many crosses.

Ilic 4.5 – He struggled to find a way through Juventus’ midfield. (84’ Pellegri N/A)

Ricci 5 – Didn’t move the ball quickly enough.

Lazaro 4.5 – His teammates didn’t rely on him much. Not enough quality and Weah didn’t even push much down that flank. (84’ Vojvoda N/A)

Seck 5 – Didn’t have the personality to trouble Danilo and Juventus defenders (70’ Sanabria 6 – His bicycle kick attempt was Torino’s best chance of the game)

Vlasic 4.5 – Nowhere near last season’s standards.

Zapata 5 – Used his physicality, but it wasn’t enough to cause trouble for the Old Lady.

Coach: Juric 5 – An underwhelming performance from the Granata who have many options in attack, but none seems to be good enough at the moment.
