Benevento coach Pippo Inzaghi ‘prefers to lose like this’ when creating chances and attacking Inter after a 5-2 thriller.
Le Streghe kept fighting back yet again, after going from 2-0 down to beat Sampdoria 3-2 at the weekend, but this time they were beaten 5-2.
“Creating so many chances and scoring two goals against Inter, one of the best teams in Europe, is a sign of strength,” assured SuperPippo.

“We knew there was the risk we’d concede a few goals, it’s just disappointing that some of them were so avoidable. We need to improve, certainly, and conceding after 28 seconds didn’t help our confidence.
“We can learn and mature thanks to these setbacks. I had jokingly referred to this as a friendly, because I knew how good Inter were, but I prefer to lose like this while proving we can attack and create four clear-cut scoring opportunities.
“Knowing Inter respect us will help our confidence going forward. I feel confident for the future of Benevento.”
