Stefano Pioli looks forward to the Coppa Italia quarter-final with Torino and maintains Milan are now “more determined in both penalty areas.”
It kicks off on Tuesday at 19.45 GMT, with the winner decided after 90 minutes, extra time or even penalties.
“We must go into this game with conviction, as it’s a very important match against an opponent that will be fired up, wounded and determined to prove themselves.
“We’ll have to make a few changes, as we’re coming off a very tiring period of fixtures,” Pioli told Rai Sport and Milan TV.
Torino are fresh from a 7-0 home defeat to Atalanta and this could be the last game for coach Walter Mazzarri.
On the other hand, the Rossoneri registered another victory, 1-0 away to Brescia, to keep the strong run going since moving to 4-4-2.
“We are more determined and efficient in both penalty areas, so when attacking and defending,” argued the coach.
“On a psychological level too, wins help you to believe more in your capabilities and keep going. Our fans have been fantastic too and it’s wonderful to play for them.”
Milan requested the opportunity to hold a minute’s silence for Kobe Bryant before kick-off, as the basketball legend was a huge Rossoneri supporter, having grown up in Italy when his father was playing there.
“It’s a tragedy that really struck me,” added Pioli. “Kobe was an icon and always gave off that feeling he enjoyed sport, which is a wonderful philosophy. I am a big basketball fan, so it was a real shock.”
