Stefano Pioli won’t pass judgement on his former club Palermo as “I wasn’t there long enough…”
The Coach takes his Inter side to Renzo Barbera on Sunday, having been in charge of the Rosanero for 90 days – and two Serie A games – in 2011.
“I only like to talk about things I’ve experienced,” Pioli shrugged when asked about the Sicilian side’s struggles this season.

“I wasn’t at Palermo long enough to make a judgement about the situation. I came at a difficult point after a Coppa Italia final against Inter.
“I had a great relationship with [President Maurizio] Zamparini, right up to the day before my departure. The relationship remained good though.
“You have to be there to judge things, but they have quality, experienced players and they’ll want to prove themselves. We’ll have to be at our best.”
There has been much speculation about the summer transfer window, but Pioli isn’t getting ahead of himself.
“We can only control one thing, our present. That means having another 17 good League games and taking as many points as we can to put ourselves in a good position.
“We need a good present to build something important for the future of Inter, knowing that there’s a very strong ownership which supports us and has big ambitions.
“We can give the club a solid foundation to build a great Inter, and that will depend on what we do between now and May 28.
“The group is focused, united and cohesive, and they’ve understood that we can achieve satisfaction if we all pull in the same direction.”
