Super-agent Rafaela Pimenta publicly backed Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba after his four-year ban from football.
On Thursday, Italy’s anti-doping tribunal confirmed the four-year ban for the French midfielder following his failed doping test back on August 20, 2023, after a Serie A clash between Juventus and Udinese, which he didn’t feature in.
DHEA, which can raise the natural level of testosterone, was found in Pogba’s tests and a second sample also returned positive in October.
Pogba has been suspended since September, unable to train with his teammates, and Juventus are now waiting for the situation to develop further before deciding whether or not to terminate his contract. He will appeal the ruling to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Writing on her Instagram page, Pimenta shared some photos of herself with Pogba and publicly supported the midfielder, whose career could’ve come to an abrupt end.
“Photo dump with one of my biggest heroes. The one who never gives up. Who stands tall no matter what. Wise beyond his years, clean to the soul. Through thick and thin Paul Pogba.”
The French midfielder’s salary was lowered to circa €2,400 per month following his suspension, inline with the collective agreement between clubs and the Italian Footballers’ Association.
