“The only thing that matters to me right now is to find 11 players who can give 120 per cent,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“Stefan Radu hasn’t trained, but I cannot rule him out, as he is a strong man and really wants to be there. Otherwise one of the options to replace him in defence is Cristian Ledesma.”
This could further weaken the midfield, where Hernanes has been extremely inconsistent this season amid reports of a January exit.
“We should stop putting so much pressure on Hernanes. He is finding himself again and it is just up to me and his teammates to help him. He needs more grit and confidence, but he will soon be back to his best.
“The team has been lacking self-belief lately, but we are getting back on track and want to continue our positive streak against Genoa.
“We know the qualities of our opponents. Alberto Gilardino is the kind of striker who you need to be wary of for 90 minutes, otherwise he’ll pounce on any slip of concentration.
“Although I have the utmost respect for Genoa, we must focus on ourselves. I am confident we’ll see a great Lazio.”
