Diego Perotti says Genoa are aiming for sixth, and thanks the team: 'I'd lost happiness but they gave it back to me'.
The 27-year-old was targeted by both Inter and Milan last summer, but he ended up staying put, and he seems to be all the happier for it.
“A group that is strong and compact like ours may not be sufficient to win you the Scudetto,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “But it's essential to let you train happily and give your best on the pitch.

“This is an ideal environment to live, my wife is extremely happy here.
“The times of the transfer market are always strange, they can give a hard time to anyone.
“When you have a lot of thoughts in your head it's hard to train well or to be completely lucid.
“Luckily it's all behind me. I'm glad I stayed here and I'm feeling well.
“Our targets? I'm trustful, but let's not forget that our results last year came naturally. Making it to sixth two years in a row would be a great result, but it's not easy. We're certainly going to try.”
Perotti was then asked about new Genoa signing Diego Capel and about Coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
“I know Diego back from Sevilla and I know his worth. As soon as he reaches his peak, you'll see an extraordinary player.
“Gasperini and his staff were fundamental. I didn't just get rid of my old problems, the Coach and Genoa have given me happiness again.
“I experienced two extremely difficult years before coming here. Now I know that I'm still a real football player, with a future ahead of me.”
