Perisic: ‘Inter regrets’

Ivan Perisic reveals that Inter decided ‘we needed to fight’ before last night’s Juventus game and admits ‘regrets remain’.

The Nerazzurri pulled off an astonishing comeback from a 3-0 first leg Coppa Italia semi-final defeat to beat Juve 3-0 at San Siro last night.

However, they were eventually beaten on penalties and missed out on the chance of a Milan Derby in the final.

“The first match in Turin was decisive, we didn’t play like we did tonight,” Perisic told Inter Channel late last night.

“The regrets remain but Inter is Inter and we don’t have to defend ourselves.

“If we’d played like today in the first leg it wouldn’t have finished like this.

“We want to win all our matches and I think that we can do it by continuing to play like this.

“We were coming off some defeats and it wasn’t an easy time, we spoke in the dressing room and said that we needed to fight.

“Now we have two games at home, we need to prepare well and be ready for Sunday. Let’s win these two matches and then we’ll think about Roma.”
