When news came through of Astori’s death, Genoa and Cagliari were warming up at Marassi, but Perin ran off the field in tears.
“I can’t believe it’s real. I cannot get my head round this!!” wrote Perin on Instagram this evening.
“It’s one of those blows that breaks your legs and splits your heart, we spent so many fantastic moments together. On the field you were a humble and fair opponent, above all strong and always the last to give up, the first to give a word of comfort.
“Other moments, more than fantastic, we spent at Coverciano, above all during the lunches and dinners at that corner of the table, where we had a ton of laughs!!
“That is how I will always remember you, with a smile on your face! Ciao Davidone.”
