Siena have confirmed that goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo will, in all probability, join French outfit Monaco.
“The transfer talks are close to completion,” Siena sporting director Stefano Antonelli told Sport Italia. “I think it will be done by the end of the week.”
The 32-year-old has been made available for transfer given the club’s relegation and his contract situation in Tuscany.
The shot-stopper has less than a year left on his present agreement which means he would be able to move on a Bosman next summer.
Formerly of Verona, Genoa and Parma, the ex-Italian Under-21 international signed for Siena in 2009.
