Verona Coach Fabio Pecchia says there’s “great anger, great sorrow” after the Bologna loss – “I’m struggling to think that we lost this game”.

“I’m struggling to think that we lost this game,” Pecchia said in his post-match interview with Sky.

“I’m struggling to think that we lost this game,” Pecchia said in his post-match interview with Sky.
“In the end though we go home with no points. There’s great anger, great sorrow. We didn’t deserve to lose but in the end we lost so we obviously did something wrong.
“I saw a team that played with rhythm since the start, playing a team with a lot of calmness.
“At 2-1 we tried to score another goal, but from a possible 3-1 we found ourselves behind in two minutes. From there it was always going to be difficult for us to recover.
“I saw a team that did well, that did everything to bring home the result. Unfortunately we didn’t succeed though, and that’s something that’s been happening too often lately.
“The Cagliari game aside, we’ve deserved more in a lot of other games.
“The goal took the legs away from us a bit, but in the second half Nicolas didn’t have a save to make so this result annoys me a bit.
“I can’t blame my players, because at 2-1 we never gave up playing.”
Five games lost in a row is the worst run Verona have had since 2001, and Pecchia was asked if he’s under pressure.
“I talk about my role, the team and what happens on the pitch. The President and the club will talk about the rest.”
