The Gazzetta dello Sport reported this morning that the Gialloblu were the only one of the four contenders for Serie A’s final Europa League place not to be in possession of a UEFA license.
It was also said that the fact Parma were found to have made a delayed tax payment of late may count against them in their application to obtain one.
It was however stressed that the tardiness of the payment was due to a misunderstanding rather than any irregularities and Parma have now moved to clarify things.
“In response to the reports in today’s Press about our UEFA license, Parma FC announces that it has fulfilled its outstanding payment,” the statement on the club’s official website reads.
“This is in adherence to the rules and regulations of the licensing system.
“Parma FC is now extremely confident that the upcoming assessment by the commission will show it to have complied with the rules outlined for UEFA licensing.”
