A last auction for Parma has finally attracted a bid, but it is not yet clear who it is from, or if it is viable.
The Ducali are desperately seeking a new owner, having been declared bankrupt this season, and relegated from Serie A.
They will be allowed to compete in Serie B next season if they manage to pay their sporting debt by the end of the month, but would need investment to meet that aim.

Thankfully, that is now a step closer, as the club has announced that a bid has been received.
“The administrators of Parma FC, Dr Angelo Anedda and Dr Alberto Guiotto, announce that at 12pm today [11am UK time], a bid in a sealed envelope was presented to the notary Giulio Almansi, appointed to oversee the operations of the sale of Parma FC,” a statement read.
“This afternoon, the administrators and the notary will open the envelope to verify its contents, and its compliance to the specially crafted rules for sporting sales, and report back to the bankruptcy judge with the outcome of the sales procedure.”
Potential bidders include baseball legend Mike Piazza, Paul Squires of the Adler Group and Massimo Zanetti, owner of coffee company Segafredo.
