Parma break season ticket record

Parma are rebuilding in the amateur Serie D, and have already sold a record-breaking number of season tickets.

The Ducali were declared bankrupt at the end of last season, and have been forced to start again at the amateur level as Parma Calcio 1913.

The city’s mayor has spoken of the need for the local populace to get behind the team as they work their way back to the professional ranks, and the fans have responded.

According the club’s website, 4,382 season tickets have been sold for the new campaign, after just three days of being on sale, breaking a record previously set by Siena.

President Nevio Scala and the new board set the goal of selling 4,000 of the tickets, with prices starting at just €25.

At the other end of the scale, €1,015 grants access to all league matches, cup games and friendlies, 20 per cent discount on official merchandise, a limited edition t-shirt, three Under-14 season tickets, free parking at Stadio Tardini during the week and clubhouse membership.

The stadium has a capacity of 27,906.
