The Romanian shot-stopper hit the headlines thanks to his performances in the FA Cup this season and recently turned 26.

“We haven’t talked to Manchester City about his future yet,” agent Ion Timofte told TMW.

“There are six weeks to go until the end of the season and we’ll discuss it after that. One thing is for sure: Costel would love to play in Italy with a club like Fiorentina.

“At the moment we have not had direct contact with Fiorentina, but the Viola represent a wonderful side. Serie A is also naturally interesting for any professional football player.”

The representative confirmed this is not the first time Pantilimon has been linked with a move to Italy.

“Yes, two years ago Udinese made a concrete proposal for him.”
