Parma have cooled reports that they could sign Angelo Palombo from Serie B side Sampdoria in January.

The two parties have been linked in recent weeks, but Tardini chief Tommaso Ghirardi insists he’s unaware of any such interest.

“I like Palombo,” Gialloblu President Ghirardi stated. “However, I do not know anything about this possible transfer.

“I have no idea whether Palombo will arrive here at Parma and I’m not convinced that Sampdoria will even let go of him.”

Palombo stayed loyal to Genoa-based Sampdoria during the summer following their shock relegation from the top flight.

The Italian international has also been linked with possible New Year moves to giants Fiorentina and Napoli.
