Palermo appeared to have missed the deadline for getting their papers over to Lega Serie B at midnight on Tuesday.

However, Salvatore Tuttolomondo argued at a Press conference that ‘technical problems’ were to blame for his club’s tardiness.

“We have no concerns about our registration for next season, it’s coming via certified mail,” said Tuttolomondo.

“We first sent it just after 9pm and then at 11.59 with all the documentation. The problems were technical, stemming from the platform we had to use to complete our registration.

“The impediment was beyond our control and wasn’t our fault.

“I’m here to say that we’ve fulfilled all the necessary requests to register for the next Serie B campaign.

“It’s a situation that cannot be disproved. We’re now waiting for the arrival of our registration via certified mail.

“We’re here and we have signed a commitment with the city, which we’ve honoured.”
