The Nerazzurri have rediscovered their form after a shaky start to 2014 and are only one point adrift of Fiorentina in fourth place.

“I’m doing well. Today I trained normally with the team. I was a bit tired because I’ve been playing a lot, but it’s nothing serious,” he told the official Inter website.

“I like playing more in a two-forward system. You can see the team has improved. Our understanding is growing just as the team is improving. It’s becoming stronger and we have to keep this up. You only need to look at the results on the pitch and the recent performances.

“We can’t fail on Sunday. We’re playing at home and we have to win. We know Atalanta are a team that’s tough to face. We’ll need to be careful.

“We know we lost points in games we should have got something from, but we have to keep going the way we are now.”

La Trenza put pen to paper on a contract extension this month and others including Fredy Guarin are set to follow suit.

“I’d really like it if all of our stars were to re-sign, but these decisions come down to the club.

“Our odds of reaching fourth place? I have no idea. We’re a long way off third, but we need to think game by game.”
