Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini is the only Italian included in UEFA’s 50 candidates for its Team of the Year.
Chiellini’s inclusion comes after a 2018 that saw him win another domestic double with Juve and become their captain after Gianluigi Buffon’s exit.
He is joined from the Old Lady by Miralem Pjanic, Paulo Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo, the latter of whom fired Real Madrid to a third consecutive Champions League last season.
