Onana to Man United: The countdown has begun

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, André Onana is virtually a new Manchester United player and is expected to finalise his transfer to Old Trafford in the next 72 hours.

The Cameroon international is set to leave Inter after just one season at the Stadio Meazza. Sunday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (page 2) provides the latest updates regarding his imminent move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United will pay €50m plus add-ons, providing the money Inter need to sign Romelu Lukaku on a permanent transfer from Chelsea.

The pink paper claims Inter and United have reached an agreement in principle and will finalise the latest details between Tuesday and Wednesday, meaning Onana will become a new Manchester United player within the next 72 hours.

The Serie A giants are planning to replace Onana with two signings: Yann Sommer from Bayern Munich and Anatolij Trubin from Shakhtar Donetsk even if Tottenham veteran Hugo Lloris remains in the club’s radars.

Onana joined Inter on a free transfer from Ajax a year ago and kept 19 clean sheets in 41 appearances last season, conceding 36 goals.
