Onana sends message to Inter supporters with Man United move imminent

Andre Onana has tweeted a message to the supporters of Inter with the announcement of his transfer to Manchester United expected imminently.

On Thursday evening, the Cameroonian tweeted: “I don’t know if I was the best but I always gave my best,” tagging Inter along with black and blue heart emojis.

The 27-year-old flew to the UK from Turin on Tuesday evening and reportedly completed his customary pre-transfer medicals in Manchester on Wednesday.

It is expected that United will pay €55m to the Nerazzurri to secure Onana’s services, made up of €51m up front and €4m in achievable bonuses. Numerous outlets report that he will sign a five-year contract at Old Trafford.

Onana joined Inter on a free transfer last summer following the expiry of his contract with Ajax and therefore represents an enormous capital gain for the club.

Erik ten Hag hopes to reunite with his former Ajax ‘keeper in time for United’s pre-season tour of the United States.
