Official: Zaccagni leaves Verona for Lazio

Mattia Zaccagni has completed his transfer to Lazio for €7m plus €2-3m in bonuses, after the Hellas Verona man agreed personal terms, while Mohamed Fares joins Genoa.

The two clubs had reached the deal earlier this afternoon, as Zaccagni’s contract with Verona only runs to the end of the season.

Lazio turned to the 26-year-old after losing out on first choice Filip Kostic of Eintracht Frankfurt.

There were some issues, as his agent struggled to agree personal terms with Lazio, but the situation was resolved following a crunch meeting.

It’s reported Zaccagni will receive €1.9m per season plus performance-related bonuses.

He has already scored two goals in two Serie A appearances for Verona this season.

Last term, he found the net five times with seven assists in 36 Serie A games.

Zaccagni is effectively the replacement for Inter-bound Joaquin Correa at the Stadio Olimpico, able to play on the left wing or as a trequartista behind the strikers.

Meanwhile, Lazio are also sending Mohamed Fares on loan to Genoa with an option to buy for €7m, according to Sky Sport Italia.

Verona have officially signed Gianluca Caprari on loan from Sampdoria with option to buy, which can become an obligation at certain conditions.
