As expected, Sassuolo have completed the transfer of Turkish defender Kaan Ayhan from Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The deal is reported to be worth €2.5m, with the player signing a three-year contract.
Ayhan is a centre-back who can also play at right-back or in a more advanced defensive midfield position.
The 25-year-old has 28 senior caps for Turkey, who he chose to represent at international level, despite being born and raised in Germany, so has dual nationality.

He becomes the third Turkish defender to play for Sassuolo in the last couple of years after Merih Demiral and Mert Muldur.
“We are very happy to have reached an agreement with Sassuolo and are satisfied from a financial point of view,” director of sport Uwe Klein told the Fortuna Dusseldorf website.
“We have repeatedly emphasised that we do not want to put obstacles in the way of our players, but are also obliged to carefully examine the entire transfer package.
“We wish Kaan all the best, both professionally and personally, as he is the perfect example of how well young players can develop at Fortuna.”
