Genoa forward Diego Perotti has officially joined Roma on loan for €1m with option to buy for another €9m.

He flew in last night, straight after completing his final match with the Grifone, to undergo a medical and took part in his first training session today.

“AS Roma are delighted to announce the signing of Diego Perotti. The club has reached an agreement with Genoa Cricket and F.C. S.p.A. to take the forward on loan until 30 June 2017 for a fee of €1m.
“The deal includes an option to make the transfer permanent for a fee of €9 million as of the 2017-18 campaign, which will be triggered by certain performance-related clauses.
“The wide forward, 27, has signed a contract with the Giallorossi after passing a medical in Rome."

“Perotti made his name in Argentina with Deportivo Moron, making his first-team debut in 2006. He moved to Sevilla in the summer of 2007, initially joining up with their B team.
“Perotti made his Liga debut in February 2009, before scoring his first goal for the club in May of the same year to secure victory over Deportivo la Coruna and with it automatic qualification for the Champions League.
“His time in Spain would draw to a close in 2013 after 117 appearances and nine goals. Diego returned to his homeland in February 2014 for a short spell at Boca Juniors, before moving to Serie A with Genoa later that summer.
“He made his mark on the Italian top flight in an 18-month stay in which he collected 45 appearances and struck five goals.”
