It was reported last night that today would be the day he put pen to paper on an extension, and Ringhio arrived at Casa Milan this afternoon to sign his new deal.

This afternoon, the club has confirmed that Gattuso has signed until 2021 in a live video on Facebook.

"Good evening everyone, the moment has arrived to tell you that Rino Gattuso will be our Coach for the next three years," said CEO Marco Fassone.

"This is one of the most heartfelt choices we've made since we've been here, and in recent months he's done an extroardinary job.

"With Rino we can really have an important long-term project.

"It's my fault the renewal took so long because I was always away, but Rino is absolutely wanted by all of us."

The former Rossoneri midfielder also spoke, having signed a deal which is thought to be worth around €2m per season.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity," Gattuso said, sitting alongside Fassone and sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli.

"Without Fassone and Mirabelli I wouldn't be here, I was given this opportunity and I'm happy to coach a glorious club like Milan.

"I think the lads and my staff, I thank you for the trust and we hope to bring Milan back to high levels soon."
