Diego Farias has officially joined Lecce on loan with conditional obligation to buy, while extending his Cagliari contract until 2022.
A statement on Cagliari’s website confirmed Farias’ season-long loan would become permanent if Lecce avoided relegation on their return to Serie A.
If the Salentini fail to stay up, he will revert to honouring his commitment with his parent club, which will have two years left to run.
The Brazilian forward, who turned 29 in May, has spent his entire professional career in Italy.
