Oddo spent much of his career at Milan and won’t deny it’s a special fixture.

“Obviously, this is not a normal match for me, but it’s one I will have to deal with. I am pleased to face some old friends and test ourselves in difficult circumstances. We have to play as a team against a Milan side that has learned how to act as a unit, so I compliment Rino Gattuso for his fine work,” said Oddo in a Press conference.

“Milan are in good shape, have learned how to become a team and are very dangerous opponents right now. Gattuso is a teammate and friend I shared unforgettable moments with, so I am very happy with the success he is experiencing as a Coach. As a player, he reached a high level by understanding his limitations and that is a sign of great intelligence. I’ll be very happy to embrace him on the touchline tomorrow.

“With all due respect for the last few games we’ve played, Milan have something more than those teams, so if you don’t do more and raise the bar, you’ll get nowhere,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We must play better football, try to be more positive, more courageous and take the game to the opposition. I believe we can take a step forward tomorrow in terms of attacking potential and self-belief as well.

“I think the performances over the last couple of weeks haven’t been as sharp because we ran into a difficult moment after the lads gave so much to recover, so a dip in form is natural, especially after the Serie A break.

“Now we’re back on track in training, there are improvements in training and if we want to achieve something great and play our cards, we must all do something more both in technical and psychological terms.

“We weren’t incredibly sharp or impressive at Genoa, yet still won. We want to remain in the running with many clubs for a place in Europe and tomorrow meet a side that spent €200m on the market. The most important thing is that my team is confident it can get a result.”
