Former Napoli Coach Walter Novellino has heaped praise on current boss Maurizio Sarri, labelling him as the most important man at the club.
The 57-year-old joined the Partenopei from Empoli last summer and led his new team to second place and Champions League qualification in his first season in charge at San Paolo.
“Sarri is the most important man at Napoli, we Coaches count for a lot,” Novellino told reporters.
“Higuain, it shouldn’t be forgotten, is a player who the year before last hadn’t scored that many goals.

“Koulibaly too, without Sarri, would not have had all these admirers. He is the main reason for the success of Napoli and the players who are part of the team.”
Novellino also prasied Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, adding that the film producer should not be blamed for Higuain’s acrimonious exit to Juventus.
“De Laurentiis is doing great things, he is not to blame for Higuain.”
