Palermo are confident that Antonio Nocerino will sign a contract extension at the club before the start of the season.
The Italian midfielder's current deal expires in 2012 which has seen him linked with a summer move.
"I believe that Nocerino will remain in Rosanero and I think he'll sign a new contract," sporting director Sean Sogliano told TMW.
"There will certainly be a conversation about it. I don't think that a player like him can remain at a club with his contract running into its last year."

Nocerino, who is now a part of the national set-up, has admirers in the shape of Milan and Napoli.
If no extension agreement can be reached, Palermo are likely to sell rather than risk losing him for nothing on a Bosman next summer.
